Spring 2008 Update
May 18th, 2008 | Latest News | Comments Off
Contrary to popular belief, the Josh Martin Band still exists! We’ve taken quite a long break from playing any gigs in the last several months. But, we’ll be back in action next weekend in Munfordville. To keep up with our performance schedule, you can check the dates page. We’ve even embedded a fancy Google calendar. High tech, indeed.
For those that may not know, guitarist Bert Lace has left the band. His family is in the process of adopting two children (a brother and sister). To be able to focus on this process, his work and time with his family, he needed to step away from the band. We’re disappointed to see him go, but we know that God has great things in store for his future. We, along with Bert and his family, ask for your prayers as they enter this new stage of life. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Bert and his family for their dedication to this band for the last few years. We’re going to miss you man!
You might see some new faces with us the next time you see us. No, we haven’t replaced Bert. Due to other obligations (work and school), Derek may have to miss a concert or two. In his place will be Josh’s uncle on bass – Johnny Martin. In fact, he’ll be filling in for Derek at Munfordville. We’ll also have the pleasure of Laura Hadley filling in on vocals. We certainly appreciate both Johnny and Laura’s willingness to help us glorify God!
Speaking of Derek, congratulations are in order! Derek and his girlfriend, Mary Beth are now engaged! We’ll let Derek tell you where he proposed. It’s a good story.
In the mean time, we’ve continued to slowly work on new material for our next album. We haven’t quite worked up enough material just yet, but there are several songs in the works. We hope to start recording soon. Check back for details!
